Furthering our Relationship with the DMV

With the recent opening of our second shared-space DMV Express location in North Haven, Nutmeg is continuing its partnership with the Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles. This exciting news marks another milestone in our physical branch expansion as well as our rapidly evolving technology. I’d like to take some time to talk about how convenient these new services will be for our members and for all of the community.

Since AAA ended their license renewal services in southern Connecticut last year, we have taken this opportunity to provide an easy and convenient alternative. The DMV Express offers CT residents the ability to do license renewals, license replacements, name changes and address changes. We have already seen great success with these services at our Milford DMV Express location and are excited to provide these services to the greater North Haven community as well. For added convenience, we have also extended the hours for both locations to include earlier morning hours and later evening hours.

With the opening of this new location, we have introduced the ability to schedule your appointments online up to two months in advance! This custom technology has been developed by Nutmeg and is a first for the CT DMV. With the online scheduler, you will receive a special electronic code to use when visiting to make the experience quick and simple. As always, you can walk in and be served without an appointment as well.

Like our Milford location, the new North Haven branch features state-of-the-art full self-service technology. Over the past few years we’ve worked hard to ensure that any credit union business—opening accounts, applying for loans, depositing or withdrawing money and much more—can be conducted quickly and easily on our interactive tablets and kiosks. Although the focus of our shared-space branches is primarily self-service, there will still be Nutmeg staff available on-site to provide education and additional help as needed.

Our ongoing partnership with the DMV will continue to gain momentum as we open more shared-space locations and push the boundaries of the banking industry. We hope to see you at a Nutmeg location soon and that you take advantage of all the services we have to offer.
