Your existing loan remains in place, and you’ll continue to make payments as you do today. In addition to maintaining access to your current loan, you’ll gain access to an expanded portfolio of lending options through Nutmeg State FCU. As we move through the approval process, we’ll provide more information about any enhancements and additional borrowing opportunities available to members.

No. Nutmeg State FCU reviews loan applications on a personal basis that takes your unique situation into account. You’ll also have more loan products to choose from, which may fit your needs even better.

You’ll gain access to Nutmeg’s full range of rates and terms, including competitive dividend rates on savings and certificates, and lending options built to fit a variety of borrowing needs.

You’ll see fewer fees on account services, including no NSF or overdraft transfer fees.

Nutmeg State FCU is committed to making this transition as seamless as possible. If any account details change, including your account number, we’ll notify you directly with enough time to update any automatic payments or direct deposits.

Yes. As long as you’re in good standing on your loan agreement, you’ll keep your fixed rate on auto and personal loans.

No. The location at 90 Hamilton Street will close as of the merger’s effective date. You’ll have access to our full network of branches throughout Connecticut. For added convenience, the following Nutmeg State branches are located within approximately 5 miles of the New Haven Teacher’s branch:

• 1647 Whitney Avenue, Hamden, CT 06517
• 501 Crescent Street, New Haven, CT 06515

Not yet. We’ll let you know as soon as those branches are available to you.

New Haven Teachers FCU will continue operating under its current name until systems combine, expected in December 2026. After that, the Nutmeg State FCU name will apply.

Both organizations felt the combined credit union should build on an existing name rather than create a new one. Nutmeg State FCU’s name carries strong brand equity to build on, and as the larger organization, it made for a less disruptive transition.

Yes. Your accounts remain federally insured by the NCUA up to $250,000, just as they are today.
