CT Green Bank
2023 & 2022 – Nutmeg State FCU recognized as Outstanding Partners
For two consecutive years, CT Green Bank has honored Nutmeg State Financial Credit Union for leadership in the Smart-E Loan Program. Headquartered in Rocky Hill, Nutmeg has consistently provided excellent support to homeowners and contractors in Hartford, Middlesex, New Haven, and Tolland counties, and select municipalities in Fairfield. A Smart-E lender since 2013, Nutmeg has specifically shown expertise in helping low-to-moderate-income borrowers.

2023 – Louise Herring Philosophy-in-Action Member Service Award for Working Wheels Program
Nutmeg is committed to helping families thrive. For many, this means having a reliable way to get to work. We help struggling individuals who need reliable transportation to get to work. Our Working Wheels Car Ownership Program is designed to help members of the community who normally wouldn’t qualify for a car loan because of a low income situation. Acquiring a car to achieve and maintain employment helps break the financial cycle and gives them the ability to earn an income.

This award recognizes credit unions that do an extraordinary job incorporating credit union philosophy into daily operations. Nutmeg State FCU’s Working Wheels Car Ownership Program is an important part of our mission and philosophy to create multi-generational prosperity in our communities.

2023 – Marketing Excellence Award: Public Relations
John Holt, CEO of Nutmeg State FCU, was awarded this honor for his WFSB – Channel 3 interview with Bruce Adams. They provided information about the safety of deposits in credit unions, during the height of the public’s concerns about deposit insurance at other financial institutions.

Exceptional Commitment To Hispanic Outreach
2017 – ‘Juntos Avanzamos’ Designation
Nutmeg State FCU is one of only two Connecticut credit unions granted the ‘Juntos Avanzamos’ designation. The translation from Spanish to English is “Together We Advance”. Nutmeg provides services, bilingual support and affordable products that support the Hispanic community.
