Meet the Branch Management Team

Javier Roman

Director, Member Success

Javier joined Nutmeg State in 2012 as a teller in our New Britain location and has grown through positions of Branch Supervisor, Assistant Manager, Branch Manager & Retail Banking Officer. In Javier’s current role, as the Director of Member Success, Javier oversees all member delivery channels including the branch network & contact center. Javier’s responsibilities include a focus on branch operational soundness while maintaining an impactful member experience to all potential & existing members. Javier is a graduate of “The Connecticut CU Executive Education Program” and is an active member of his local BNI group. Javier is an advocate of the credit union movement and takes the most pride in helping the underserved communities achieve their financial goals through the use of affordable banking products and services. Javier is fluent in Spanish and enjoys volunteering his time to food pantries and local shelters.

Luis Mejia

Regional Manager, Branch Operations & Member Experience

Luis is the Regional Manager, Branch Operations & Member Experience. He comes to Nutmeg State with over 12 years of experience in the financial services industry. Luis joined Nutmeg State in December of 2017 and has held many positions ranging from Member Service Specialist to DMV Express Market Manager. Most recently, as Regional Manager, Luis is responsible for the oversight of all retail branches spread across Connecticut. He takes great pride in his ability to coach staff to deliver memorable experiences to our members.

Lisa Cooke

Manager, Contact Center & Experience

Lisa is the Member Experience Manager for our Contact Center, having joined the Credit Union more than 10 years ago. She has over 25 years’ experience in the financial and customer service fields. Lisa enjoys working with members to deliver excellent service. She is always looking for new and innovative endeavors our Call Center can pursue. Lisa enjoys spending time with her family, especially her 3 grandchildren.

Nelsy Londono

Member Service Supervisor

Nelsy is the Member Service Supervisor at our Stratford location. She has worked in the banking industry for over 30 years. Nelsy’s favorite part of what she does is being able to see the impact that she makes in members' lives and helping them with their financial situations. Nelsy is also fluent in Spanish and in her free time she enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

Tina Wells

Member Service Supervisor

Tina is the Member Service Supervisor at our Orange Location. She has had 7 years of working in customer service, and now several years working in the banking industry. Tina’s favorite part about working for Nutmeg especially, is meeting new members every day, and creating not only a financial solution but a long lasting banking relationship. Tina maintains a clientele that really enjoy just coming in to speak to her. In her spare time, she loves to spend time with friends and family doing new and exciting things!

Joshua Bula

Member Service Supervisor

Joshua is the Member Service Supervisor for our New Britain branch. Josh joined Nutmeg State in 2016 as a part-time teller at our in-store branch location and has learned the intricate facets of banking within our communities. While at Nutmeg State, Josh has been responsible for sales and operational branch soundness all while maintaining a positive working culture that promotes employee engagement & productivity. Josh strives to keep each employee motivated which in turn results in impactful member experiences for our membership.
